Fire Commission Manages to Set a"Real Fire" In Jammed Public Meeting Room
Okay, let us help set the scene here for what was a bizarre showdown. One one side of the room you have Dr. Charles "Chip" Schelly (a local paid, on-call firefighter) who desires to hold a seat on the Idyllwild Fire Commission. On the other side you have the current Idyllwild Fire Commissioners. Then two minutes into the meeting, poof...a wildfire of blazing comments erupts and the room suddenly gets smoking hot...

200+ for Idyllwild reunion

What if you gave a party and everyone came? That’s what’s shaping up for Stephanie Hayden’s Idyllwild Reunion, planned for the weekend of June 5 to 7, when more than 200 Idyllwild former residents and friends return to the Hill.

Hayden, who grew up in Idyllwild from 1973 to 1990, went to Idyllwild School (IS) and graduated from Hemet High, said one of the key things about her Idyllwild network of friends is that she still knows everyone she went to preschool with. “The network is still strong,” she said. “I’ve been threatening for years to put a reunion together.
